MERLIN GREY (BS18B25) Plastisol Covered MINI Steel Roller Garage Door. MINI Continuous Steel Roller Garage Door
The Mini Roller Door is a compact version of our standard door. The drum wheel on a mini-roll is only 23cm against 28cm on the standard door. It requires less space above the door opening, making it ideal for flat roof garages or garages with restricted headroom. The compact roll requires only 340mm of headroom. Designed and manufactured in England for almost 40 years from strong, plastisol-covered corrosion-protected steel.
This single-skin garage door rolls up vertically and does not swing out in front of the garage. Enables parking right up to the door and delivers more storage space in the roof of the garage. An aluminium bottom rail helps to protect the garage door against any threat from intruders. Comes with an anti-drop safety device. It comes with two vertical steel guides which fit directly to the brickwork, the roller door barrel sits above the guides on two steel support brackets.
Plastisol is a colour coated steel that offers a thick coating and an embossed surface. It combines high wear resistance with high durability against corrosion. The reverse side of the door is painted with a two-layer grey coating.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE FULLY READ THE 'MEASURING GUIDE' TAB BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER. This is a made-to-order door, once manufactured, cancellations or returns are not accepted.
Note: All colours have either a RAL code or a British Standard code (BS). Please request a colour sample if you are not sure as digital images are a representation of the colour and will not be an exact match.
Key features:
Space Saving: It rolls up vertically and does not swing out in front of the garage giving you up to 25% more drive space.
Easy to Operate: Easy to open and close with minimum noise and friction giving reliable performance at all times.
Security: The unique profile and aluminium bottom rail reinforce our roller doors against intruder penetration.
Minimal Maintenance: No oiling or greasing, just an occasional clean of the guides with white spirit and the door surface with warm soapy water.
Weatherseal: A durable bottom seal on the underside of the door prevents leaves and other undesirable materials from entering your garage from outside.
Locking: The double-sided locking system is operated from the central handle and locks from both the inside and outside of the door. Handle and Lock will be supplied as standard on manual and automatic doors.
Safety: The door reverses automatically should the downward movement of the door be restricted.
IMPORTANT: You will require 340mm in headroom above the guide height for the roll of the curtain (from underneath the lintel to the ceiling). Mini roll garage doors come with 25mm guides on each side.
Automatic garage doors come with our 'Roll In One' motor which can be installed on either side of the garage door. The slim-line unit fits discreetly at the side of the door curtain and includes everything to convert a manually operated roller door to an automatic, remote-controlled door. Features built-in courtesy light, spring-loaded disengage cords and automatic force sensing which ensures the door operates safely at all times. In the case of a power failure, the Roll In One opener has a manual release cord to change the door to a manual function and includes an internal courtesy LED light. This is activated during both the open and closing cycles and remains illuminated for approximately 60 seconds.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU FULLY READ THIS 'MEASURING GUIDE' BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER! This is a made-to-measure door, once manufactured, cancellations or returns are not accepted.
This single skin mini roller garage door can only be fitted BEHIND the structural opening. It can’t be fitted in-between the framework/brickwork. It requires additional space either side of the guides for the steel fixing lugs and protruding barrel.
These steel single skin roller doors are ordered by the actual overall guide width (excluding fixing lugs). The ordering height is the guide height, ideally the height from the floor to the underside of the RSJ/lintel (the curtain roll sits above the guides). Ensure there is sufficient side and headroom for the chosen model.
Gliderol single skin roller doors by virtue of their construction require space above the lintel to conceal the rolled up section of the door. If headroom clearance is minimal then this MINI roll is a great option. The headroom required for a mini roll is 340mm. If the recommended headroom is not available the door may still be installed, however some loss of opening height will occur and the roll of the door will be visible (this could be disguised with a fascia).
Side room clearance required is 75mm each side with an extra 100mm, making 175mm in total on the side where the motor is fitted (if automation was selected).
Measuring the Height for ordering:
The Ordering Height refers to the height of the steel side guides NOT including the curtain roll above this height.
Measuring the Width for ordering:
The Ordering Width for a single skin door refers to the full width of the curtain required plus the width of the guides. 50mm (2x 25mm guides) for doors up to 3450mm
E.g. If the structural opening is 2200mm wide and 2150mm high, the Ordering Size should be at least 2250mm width (50mm extra for the guides) and 2150mm height. If you have more space available behind the side of the door it is always best to order a door up to 100mm wider than required. It will mean the guides will be totally hidden in the garage when viewing from the outside looking in. Having a wider door set behind the reveal can increase the weather protection, security and overall aesthetics of the door.
Every roller garage door will have a small section of the curtain hanging down slightly when fully open, usually about 50mm, so if you do require the full drive through height when the door is open and you have sufficient headroom, then add on another 50mm or more to the ordering height to take the door curtain higher internally.
Fitting BEHIND the reveal brickwork:
Measure the structural opening of the garage door, take the width measurement in 3 places, across the top, middle and bottom, take the widest dimension. Add 50mm for the width of the guides. This should be your ordering width.
Then measure the height from the floor to the underside of the lintel. If you have enough headroom (340mm) between the lintel and the ceiling, this would be classed as the ‘guide height’ (ordering height).
If you don’t have 340mm headroom between the lintel and ceiling, you can still order the door but the drive through height would be reduced. In this instance measure the height from the floor to the ceiling in a few places taking the shortest measurement. Then minus 340mm for the curtain roll. This would be your guide height (ordering height).
