BLACK (BS00E33) Plastisol Covered Light Industrial Steel Roller Door. Unprecedented in construction and design, the Gliderol Industrial Door is unsurpassed in the manufacturing industry. Computer assisted technology has enabled Gliderol to develop its manufacturing processes to produce an award winning industrial door that is cost effective, robust, hard-wearing and safe. Designed and manufactured in England for almost 40 years from strong, plastisol-covered corrosion-protected steel.
Plastisol is a colour coated steel that offers a thick coating and an embossed surface. It combines high wear resistance with high durability against corrosion. The reverse side of the door is painted with a two-layer grey coating.
The Gliderol Roller Door’s unique spring assisted spindle assembly will enable the Roller Door to always open and close easily, providing reliable performance at all times.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE FULLY READ THE 'MEASURING GUIDE' TAB BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER. This is a made-to-measure door, once manufactured, cancellations or returns are not accepted. The door can only be fitted behind the opening and not in-between. Note: All colours have either a RAL code or a British Standard code (BS). Please request a colour sample if you are not sure as digital images are a representation of the colour and will not be an exact match.
Roller Door Curtain - Gliderol roll formed steel sheet panels which are weather resistant and durable, able to withstand the harshest of conditions. The curtain provides industrial strength and quality design to enhance the overall appearance of the roller door.
Spring Assistance - The Gliderol Roller Door with its spring assisted mechanism offers precise balance; enabling efficient, effortless operation. A fine balance between the weight of the curtain and the upward pull of the springs is maintained regardless of the position of your door.
Drum Wheel - This purpose engineered nylon drum wheel has been developed into a hard-wearing high performance component.
Polyglide - Revolutionary material developed by Gliderol allows effortless operation, without the need for lubrication for maintenance free operation. Tested for 22,000 cycles continuous use, the equivalent of more than 21 years service, based on three cycles per day.
Weatherseal - Durable weatherseal prevents any undesirable material entering your garage when the roller door is closed.
Bottom Rail - This aluminium bottom rail specifically designed to reinforce the roller door against intruder penetration.
Direct Chain Wheel Constructed of glass-reinforced nylon, the direct chain wheel provides the user with smooth, efficient lifting assistance.
Chain Guide Prevents the chain from slipping or releasing from the chain wheel, ensures that safety is maintained at all times.
Optional Windlocking Secure your Gliderol Roller Door against prevailing winds. Windlock Clips fixed to the Roller Door curtain secure the door guide (*Cyclone rated. Certified AS1170-2).
Planetary Gearing - 4 to 1 reduced chain hoist for easy lifting operation of very large doors over approximately 12.5 m2
Tested by the Underwriters Laboratory and has been patented worldwide. The Glidermatic GRD operator’s quality and dependability have been thoroughly tested and successfully proven with nearly twenty years of service in actual field use. The drive force of the motor gear head rotates the motor(s), along with the drum wheel and door curtain, around the fixed planetary gear. Door travel is controlled by open and close limit switches.

This is a made-to-measure door, once manufactured, cancellations or returns are not accepted.
This light industrial roller door can only be fitted BEHIND the structural opening. It can’t be fitted in-between the framework/brickwork. It requires additional space either side of the guides for the steel fixing lugs and protruding barrel.
These steel roller doors are ordered by the actual overall guide width (excluding fixing lugs). The ordering height is the guide height, ideally the height from the floor to the underside of the RSJ/lintel (the curtain roll sits above the guides). Ensure there is sufficient side and headroom for the chosen model and size.
By virtue of their construction industrial roller doors require space above the lintel to conceal the rolled up section of the door. The headroom clearance required is as follows:
OPENING HEIGHT Chain operated up to 2400mm HEADROOM REQUIRED 460mm
OPENING HEIGHT Chain operated up to 3000mm HEADROOM REQUIRED 490mm
OPENING HEIGHT Chain operated up to 5000mm HEADROOM REQUIRED 530mm
Side room clearance required is 150mm each side for industrial doors, 225mm at the side where the chain is situated plus an extra 25mm required if a motor is to be fitted (250mm).
Measuring the Height for ordering:
The Ordering Height refers to the height of the steel side guides NOT including the curtain roll above this height.
Measuring the Width for ordering:
The Ordering Width for a light industrial door refers to the full width of the curtain required plus the width of the guides. 100mm (2x 50mm guides) for doors up to 5000mm
E.g. If the structural opening is 2900mm wide and 3000mm high, the Ordering Size should be at least 3000mm width (100mm extra for the guides) and 3000mm high. If you have more space available behind the side of the door it is always best to order a door up to 100mm wider than required. It will mean the guides will be totally hidden in viewing the door from the outside looking in. Having a wider door set behind the structural opening can increase the weather protection, security and overall aesthetics of the door.
Every roller door will have a small section of the curtain hanging down slightly when fully open, usually about 50mm, so if you do require the full drive through height when the door is open and you have sufficient headroom, then add on another 50mm or more to the ordering height to take the door curtain higher internally.
